A Highly Sensitive 3D Resonator Sensor for Fluid Measurement

Planar sub-wavelength resonators have been used for sensing applications, but different types of advantages and disadvantages. The split ring resonator (SRR) has a smaller region is suitable microfluidic the sensitivity can be limited. Meanwhile, complementary electric-LC (CELCR) larger higher sensitivity, topology cannot easily designed to reduce region. In this work, we propose new design that combines both SRR CELCR by incorporating metallic bars in trapezoid-shaped (TSR). trapezoid shape allows reduced, while enhance electric field region, resulting sensitivity. Numerical simulations were evaluate sensor. For validation, sensor was fabricated using PCB technology with aluminum tested on dielectric fluids. results showed proposed provides appreciably enhanced comparison earlier sensors.
